When duty called Fred Shorett answered. He was drafted and served in Vietnam, and earned two bronze stars for his actions. After returning home he ran a business in our city, creating jobs right here in San Bernardino. In 2009, he was elected to City Council and has been getting results for us at city hall.

ABOUT FRED SHORETTFred Shorett has a commitment to service. He was drafted, and served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He earned two bronze stars, including one for valor, for his bravery there. When he returned home, he worked at his family business and has been creating jobs in our city since then.
As a third generation resident of San Bernardino, Fred is committed to our community. He was first elected to city council in 2009 and has been working hard to improve our quality of life since then. Fred expanded public safety in our city, and has helped clean up many of the homeless encampments.
Fred has been active in many local community organizations. He currently serves as Board Vice President for Housing Partners One and is an Advisory Board member of the Salvation Army. He is the proud father of two daughters.

Fred Shorett has helped expand firefighting and police services in our city. He wants to continue this work to reduce emergency response times, and improve community safety.

Fred is leading the charge to reduce the homeless population in our city. Under his leadership the city has cleaned up over 1,000 homeless encampments and 90 tons of trash.

Fred has helped bring more jobs to our city. His investment in the airport is paying off and more businesses are locating here. Fred will use his experience as a businessman to bring even more jobs to our city.

Fred helped lead our city out of bankruptcy, is working to clean up our parks, fix our roads and get city hall working for us, not special interests. That's why we need him as our councilmember.
